A cardiologist is a medical doctor who specializes in diagnosing and treating diseases and conditions of the heart and blood vessels. They often work in hospitals and clinics and may perform tests such as electrocardiograms (ECGs) and echocardiograms, prescribe medications, and perform procedures such as angioplasty and bypass surgery.
