Cardiovascular disease (CVD), also known as heart disease, refers to a class of medical conditions that affect the heart and blood vessels. It is a broad term that encompasses a range of disorders, each of which can have serious consequences for a person’s health and well-being. CVD includes conditions such as coronary artery disease, heart failure, hypertension (high blood pressure), stroke, and peripheral artery disease, among others.
