Xanthoma refers to a skin condition characterized by the development of yellowish, flat or raised lesions or nodules. These lesions occur due to the accumulation of fat deposits beneath the skin. Xanthomas are typically painless and can occur in various locations throughout the body, including the eyelids, joints, tendons, and internal organs.
