CVRx is a medical technology company that is dedicated to developing innovative solutions for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the company has raised over $350 million to support its mission of utilizing neuromodulation technology to treat hypertension, heart failure, and other related conditions.
CVRx’s flagship product is the Barostim Neo™ System, an implantable device that uses neuromodulation to regulate blood pressure. The device works by delivering electrical impulses to the carotid sinus, a small structure in the neck that is involved in regulating blood pressure. By stimulating the carotid sinus, the Barostim Neo™ System can lower blood pressure in patients with hypertension or heart failure.

1 – Barostim Neo™
Barostim Neo™ is a medical device that is used to treat hypertension or high blood pressure. It is a small implantable device that is placed just beneath the skin in the chest. The device works by using electrical signals to stimulate the carotid sinus, which is a small area in the neck that helps to regulate blood pressure.
It works by sending small electrical signals to the carotid sinus via a thin wire that is inserted into the neck. These electrical signals help to decrease blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and reducing the workload on the heart. The device is controlled by a small handheld device that can be used by the patient to adjust the settings of the device.
Barostim Neo™ is typically recommended for patients with high blood pressure that has not been successfully managed with other treatments, such as medication or lifestyle changes. It may also be used for patients who are unable to tolerate certain medications or who have other medical conditions that prevent them from taking traditional hypertension medications.
