About

Restech is a medical device company that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of acid reflux and other digestive disorders. The company was founded in 2006 and is headquartered in San Diego, California.

Restech’s flagship product is the Restech Reflux System, which is a minimally invasive diagnostic tool for acid reflux. The system uses a small, portable sensor that is placed in the patient’s esophagus to measure pH levels and other factors related to reflux.

In addition to the Reflux System, Restech also offers a range of other diagnostic and treatment tools for acid reflux and related conditions. These include the Reflux Band, a wearable device that helps prevent reflux symptoms by providing external support to the lower esophageal sphincter, and the Stretta Therapy System, a non-surgical treatment for GERD that uses radiofrequency energy to strengthen the muscles in the lower esophagus.

Restech is committed to providing innovative solutions for the diagnosis and treatment of digestive disorders and is constantly working to improve and expand its product line. The company’s products are used by healthcare professionals around the world to help patients manage their reflux symptoms and improve their quality of life.

1 – Stretta®

Stretta® is a minimally invasive medical procedure used to treat symptoms of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) that are caused by a weak or loose lower esophageal sphincter (LES). The procedure uses radiofrequency energy to create small, controlled injuries to the muscles of the LES, which stimulates the growth of new collagen and tightens the LES.

Stretta

This helps to prevent stomach acid from flowing back into the esophagus. The procedure is typically performed under sedation and patients usually can return to normal activities within a day or two. It is an alternative to traditional surgical treatments for GERD, such as fundoplication.

2 – Dx-pH System

The Dx-pH monitoring system is a diagnostic tool used to diagnose reflux disease. It involves placing a small, flexible tube through the nose and into the lower part of the esophagus to measure the pH levels in the area.

The tube contains a sensor that detects acidity levels and transmits the information to a small monitor that is worn on a belt or waistband. The patient will be instructed to keep a diary of symptoms while wearing the device so that the data can be correlated with the pH readings.

Dx-pH System

This test helps to determine whether the acid is backing up from the stomach into the esophagus, which is a hallmark symptom of reflux disease. The pH monitoring system is one of several tests that may be used to diagnose reflux disease, and it is often used in combination with other tests to make a definitive diagnosis.

3 – Secca

Secca is a minimally invasive treatment for fecal incontinence, a condition in which a person is unable to control bowel movements, resulting in involuntary leakage of feces. The Secca procedure uses radiofrequency energy to heat and thicken the tissue in the anal canal, improving the function of the anal sphincter muscles and reducing episodes of fecal incontinence.

Secca

During the Secca procedure, a small probe is inserted into the anal canal and radiofrequency energy is applied to the tissue. The energy causes the tissue to thicken and form scar tissue, which tightens the anal sphincter muscles and improves their function.

The procedure is typically performed on an outpatient basis and takes less than an hour to complete. Patients may experience some discomfort and swelling after the procedure, but most are able to resume normal activities within a few days.
