About Dr. Katherine Harrington, Heart Surgeon
Dr. Katherine Harrington is a cardiac surgeon who graduated from Stanford School of Medicine in 2007. Throughout my career, I have performed around 2,500 cardiac surgeries, with a particular focus on heart valve procedures, accounting for 2,000 of those surgeries. Currently, I am actively practicing at Baylor Scott & White The Heart Hospital - Plano.
One of my greatest strengths lies in my genuine love for what I do. Cardiac surgery is my passion, and I find immense fulfillment in assisting my patients. I take pride in dedicating ample time to thoroughly explain each step of the procedure and address any concerns my patients may have. Complex surgeries and revision procedures are especially gratifying for me.
I had the honor of being the pioneer in completing the country's inaugural integrated cardiac surgery training program. This unique program extended my training in cardiovascular surgery to six years, compared to the standard 2 to 3 years. As a result, I possess additional expertise in minimally invasive and endovascular approaches to cardiovascular diseases.
