About Dr. Lars Svensson, Heart Surgeon
Dr. Lars Svensson, a cardiac surgeon who completed my medical education at the University of Witwatersrand Faculty of Medicine in Johannesburg, South Africa, back in 1978. With experience spanning several decades, I have successfully performed over 10,000 cardiac surgeries, out of which more than 4,000 involved heart valve procedures. Currently, I am actively practicing at the renowned Cleveland Clinic.
What sets me apart is my extensive training under the guidance of world-leading cardiovascular specialists, such as Drs. Barlow, Loop, Cosgrove, Lytle, DeBakey, and Crawford. This exposure has equipped me with a diverse range of treatment approaches, including transcatheter and traditional heart surgery. My focus lies in employing minimally invasive techniques to ensure patient safety while optimizing outcomes.
